About Me
If you’re reading this it may be because you’re considering hiring me as your Real Estate Agent. Thank you for your interest in my background and readiness to professionally represent you in your next Texas Real Estate venture.
I was born in the historic Mississippi River town of Cape Girardeau (Jeer-ar-doe) Missouri. Before college, I worked in management for a man who was a successful entrepreneur. That experience shaped my work ethic and fostered my ability to start and run a successful business. After college, I moved from the Midwest to Ft Worth to go to graduate school. I earned a BA in Psychology and MA in Christian Education. While in school I worked in sales for a nationally recognized company as a Sales & Customer Service Specialist for large ticket clients. What was unique about this position was that it was paid only on a full commission basis with no hourly or salary wages. This setting forced me to learn fast. I found the importance of being an effective and trustworthy representative for my clients was inseparable from being reliable, listening, and putting my client’s needs ahead of my own. Please allow me to emphasize that last part, I learned my own success came as a result of putting my own desires and needs second to my client’s needs. It’s been well over 20 years ago since I moved to Texas for grad school and I’ve continued to love living in Texas all these years.
In 2007 my wife Rosana and I founded and operated a successful wedding & event venue in the DFW area. It was a beautiful 5-acre property, home, and party barn centered around a beautiful 100-year-old pond with trees everywhere. We lived on the property. It was a great Texas Country setting for hundreds of events! It was there that we raised our kids and built a home we loved. Most of our personal finances were wrapped up in our home property. Our kids had grown up and moved out so we wanted to sell and reinvest in other ways.
While selling our property we experienced two types of realtors. The first realtor failed to ever bring us even one single offer. I noticed the agent was preoccupied with converting the potential buyers she met through our property listing into her own “Buyer Clients” even to the point of not being able to get our property sold. The property was shown many times, but not one single offer, not even a low offer ever came in. Once the listing expired, I separated myself from the first agent.
Soon I found the second agent, a real professional who solely focused on getting our property sold. He wasn’t interested in using our property listing to pick up clients. He was occupied and committed to what was best for me. He didn’t take people who were interested in my property as his own clients and show them other properties. Staying focused on my needs, he brought me competing, multiple offers. This agent brought us a contract and even a backup contract in case the first one fell through. He truly was a consummate professional.
Of course, upon selling our income-producing property I was suddenly unemployed. It was then, in 2016 that I knew that I wanted to become a Realtor. That’s where my vision to be an effective, professional, savvy, and trustworthy realtor was born. I strive to live that vision out every day. You see, like many people, I’ve been in a place where I couldn’t afford to hire the wrong person to represent me. I’m sincere and very capable of helping you win. I understand that your listing, purchase, or lease is a very important matter for you. I’ve experienced what a difference a focused and professional Realtor makes. Rosana and I are proud to be that kind of Realtor and it’s our pleasure to serve you this way! Sincerely, Chris
